That’s why most of us drive automatics, where we don’t even have to worry about what gear our cars are in.

Leadership styles are a lot like the gears of a car. Each leadership style is best used for certain situations, and our leadership will struggle and sputter if we are using the wrong leadership style for whatever situation we are in. Unfortunately, leadership styles don’t just change automatically for us. We have to choose the best leadership style on our own.
