Transformational Leadership Style
Thank you for taking the Leadership Styles Questionnaire. Leaders that use the Transformational Leadership style root their leadership practices in Identity, Self-realization, and Growth. They ask the question “Who are we becoming and what are we becoming because of the work we are doing together?” Leaders who lean into this style will focus greatly on the environment and mission of their team to make it as healthy and efficient as possible. They may lose out however on those who are stuck in a transactional loop.
Strengths
You create an environment that people want to work in through focusing on your team and your organization’s health. This is more than a job to you and you pass on that belief to everyone you work with.
You see people as people, not as cogs in a machine. This allows you to help each person develop as an individual.
You are the best at helping others grow and reach their goals, helping them realize and live up to their potential as you empower them through belief, coaching, and sharing knowledge with them.
You are very identity-centered and help make others feel like a valued and valuable part of the team. You communicate that the organization suffers without each individual person adding value to it simply by being themselves.
Blindspots
You can become so caught up in the big picture that you miss the small details or the details of operations that would allow the team to be more efficient.
In your desire to protect and care for others, you can sometimes take a longer path to navigate issues that need to be addressed, causing more pain to your team than a more direct approach would cause.
When work becomes more routine and less transformational, you can lose interest and drop by the wayside. Make sure to incorporate other leadership styles or work diligently to connect transformational influence with routine work.
The vision for goals may not be shared by everyone. As a visionary, you must constantly be sharing and broadcasting your vision to others to bring them on board. Remember, not every can connect the dots as easily as you can.
